Lee Totten Information Sheet:

Part troubador and part poet, Boston-based singer/songwriter Lee Totten brings an honest, intelligent and philosophical edge to pop/rock music with his latest independent release ‘Could Have Been King.’ Although he graduated from college as an English major with a Philosophy minor, it was Totten’s passion for music that consumed him. Since the independent release of his debut CD ‘Sleeping Alone’ in 1996, his career has been highlighted by the following:

  • He has performed nationwide and appeared with acts such as Everclear, Offspring, Third Eye Blind, Cracker and Barenaked Ladies. In the past five, Totten has performed over 100 shows throughout the United States.

  • He has received consistent radio play on Boston’s WAAF and WFNX and the number one rated Modern Rock station in Hartford, CT - Radio 104. In 2002, the Jagermeister song was featured on National Public Radio. Additionally, he has received airplay on stations such as WCCC (Hartford, CT), WHMP (Northampton, MA), WNEB (Portsmouth, NH) KTBZ (Houston, TX) Q102 (Dallas TX) and WERB (Middlebury, CT).

  • He has showcase at the 2001 NEMO Music Conference and the 1998 Philadelphia Music Conference. He was also chosen to showcase at the innaugural Burlington (VT) Music Conference in July of 1998, and was named as a Northeast Semi-Finalist in the Discmakers 1998 Independent Music World Series.

  • He was one of only 14 songwriter’s chosen to participate in the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) 1997 Advanced Songwriter’s Workshop in New York.

  • His music has been licensed to cable’s Oxygen Network, as well as Hollywood’s Warner Brothers affiliate KTLA, as well as chosen to appear on the DVD of Pauly Shore's latest project, "You'll Never Weiz In This Town Again".

  • His songs have been featured prominently on the internet. He appeared on MP3.com’s debut CD compilation ‘103 of the Best Songs You’ve Never Heard.’ Additionally, he was featured in the book “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to MP3" and the companion CD.

  • He was chosen to participate in the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) Mentor 2000 program as well as in ASCAP’s 1998 Mentor program.

  • In 1997 and 1998, Lee was nominated for many local and regional awards, including nominations for the Best Local Solo Act and Rock Act by the Worcester Phoenix. The Phoenix also named Lee’s debut CD one of the Top Ten CDs of 1997, and the followup was nominated for Best Record in 1998.
